Loni, Blakeley, and results!

Once again, this last week was crazy.  I find myself saying that almost every week!  It just feels like in the summertime there is so much going on.  I truly feel busy all the time!  Anyway, last week really was intense.  As most of you know, we had the hair poll going on.  I'll let you know how that went later, but I also had 2 wedding cakes this week.  Yay!  They both turned out so darling.  I've posted 1 picture of each, but to see more pictures click here.

On Friday, I did this cake for Loni Holyoak and Terrance Aldridge.

Saturday, this cake was for Blakeley and Andrew.  This is lame, but I don't even know their last names!

I'm sure this is what you have all been waiting for...

BEFORE

AFTER

We decided to go with the majority and give his hair a little trim.  Only our ideas of "little trim" were a bit different.  (surprise, surprise)  I was thinking that 1" off of the top would do, but Josh wanted his hair to be 3/4"!!!  Well, as you can see Josh won.  I got him to go up to 1", but it's still pretty short.  I was pretty ticked at first, but now I don't think it's so bad.  I would have liked to see another 1/2" or so, but it will grow I guess!  Thank you to all of you that voted!

The big debate

Okay people, we need your help.  For the past couple weeks Josh and I have been disagreeing on whether or not to cut Malakai's hair.  I am all for letting it grow, and Josh is all about cutting it.  So now I'd like to know what YOU think!  If you side with Josh it's okay, I won't hate you forever.  Only until Kai's hair grows back :)  Please! Cast your vote.  We want to know your opinion!

5 posts in 1

Wow. I think it's been 2 weeks since my last post so I am way behind. We have had so much this last little while fun and have a lot to share!

It all started with our 2 year anniversary.  We were going to be on a vacation with my family on the 10th, so on the Friday before that we spontaneously decided to go to Vegas at about 6 p.m.  So we packed up Kai and one nights worth of clothes and
head
ed out.  We went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner and pretty much went straight to sleep.  The next morning we hit up the Bellagio atrium and ate at the cafe.  And of course
we couldn't leave without
seeing a water show.  It was a short trip, but so much fun!  I couldn't believe it had been 2 years... it seems like it's been at least 5!  I love you Josh and can't wait to see where life takes us!

This was probably the best part about our Vegas trip.  An old, white lady with a cheetah print bag and Apple Bottom jeans with this embroidered on each butt cheek.  Priceless!

Kai turned 3 months on Sunday.  He is just almost 16 1/2 lbs. and is as cute and big as ever!  He has been into his toes lately, so when he was in the tub playing with them I couldn't help but get a picture.  I was trying really hard to make it G rated but it was pretty tricky to get him doing it without his little "thing" hanging between his legs.  Luckily I'm pro. haha

On June 9th we went to my favorite place on the planet... Laguna Beach.  We actually stayed in Newport, but close enough!  This is the last family vacation we'll have with everyone for 2 years since Taylor is going to be on his mission, and we had a blast!  On Monday we didn't get there until the afternoon and it was pretty cloudy, but still warm, so we hit up the beach right after we got there.  That night we just got a pizza and hung out at the hotel.  The next day was kinda cloudy again so we played putt-putt and tether ball at our hotel and then got ready and went to Balboa Island which was so awesome.  Wednesday morning my dad and I were sitting on the balcony eating breakfast and we literally watched it go from overcast to not a cloud in the sky!  So we all hurried to get our swimsuits on and got to the beach.  We boogie boarded and skimmed for hours and had so much fun.  That night we hit up Carlsbad to shop at the outlets.  Thursday we stuck around as long as we could!  We went to Fashion Island to get some last minute shopping in and ate at PF Chang's before we left.  Taylor and my dad left us that morning to head for San Diego to watch the U.S. Open... Taylor's graduation present.  It was such a fun vacation and it was so nice to get away!

Right when we got back I started working on my cake that I had that weekend.
I did a cupcake tower for Cassidy Jorgensen and Brady Miller which turned out so cute!!  Friday and Saturday was so busy and crazy trying to make 100 cupcakes, plus a small cake to go on top.  Go to my cake blog for more pictures.

We all know it was Father's Day on Sunday, and that was the finale to our week.  Since we'd bought stuff in California we didn't really make a huge deal out of it, but it's still fun to celebrate.  As all of you know, I have the absolute coolest and best dad in the whole world.  Show me another 45 year old dad that is as awesome as mine and I might reconsider.
But I doubt
anyone could find one.  I love you dad!  You are the best!  Also, this was Josh's firs
t year as a daddy!  Wahoo!  Josh is so good at helping with Kai.  He is always changing diapers and bouncing him around.  Malakai loves his dad so much.  Josh was the first one to get Kai to laugh, and I guarantee he will continue to be the
fun parent.  You are such an amazing dad and husband Josh.  Love you!!

So there you go.  We are finally all caught up!  We'll try to stay on top of it a little better for all you fans that are dying to hear what's next...

my cake blog

I just made myself and new blog that I'm really excited about.  I have been wanting to make a website for my cakes but don't have the patience, time, or money to mess with that.  So instead I made a cake blog.  I've posted pictures of all the cakes I've done (well, the ones I have pictures of) and will continue to post every time I do a new one.  I think it'll be a super good way for people to see my work and just a fun way for me to keep track of what I've done!  Check it out!

p.s. I've added the link to this page under the picture of the cake too
